"Montmartre," "Cult," "Les Sentinelles"... Here are the five most anticipated series this fall

Between now and All Saints' Day, here are the series projects you absolutely must not miss.

"The Missing at Perpignan Station," a notable news story on Disney+

A gruesome and true story – four murders of young women between 1995 and 2001 – partially solved with two different murderers imprisoned for three of the four murders (Jacques Rançon and Marc Delpech). This is the starting point of the new Disney+ series which will tell in six episodes the twenty-year hunt for the suspected serial killer of the Perpignan train station murders, where three young women were murdered between 1995 and 2001, a fourth having disappeared in similar circumstances, but her body was never found.

To bring this ambitious project to the screen, the series relies on an XXL cast: Mélanie Doutey, Hugo Becker, Patrick Timsit, Camille Razat, Yannick Choirat and Kevin Azaïs.

After Oussekine and Les Enfants sont rois, Disney+ is offering a new thriller series and confirms that the platform has strong ambitions in the French market.

Release scheduled for fall.

"Cult", the genesis of 2be3 on Prime Video

A year after the release of Culte, dedicated to the first Loft Story with a sublime Marie Colomb as Loana, Prime Video returns with a new "cult" saga since this second season will be dedicated to the phenomenon of 2be3, the French group that will ride the wave of boy bands inspired by English models like Take That and Worlds Apart. 2be3, three young men from Longjumeau in Essonne, were based around Filip Nikolic - who died suddenly in 2009 - Adel Kachermi and Frank Delay. They were young, handsome, muscular, often shirtless and made millions of young people dance to their hits like Partir un jour, Toujours là pour toi and Donne. A whirlwind that these three young people, not at all prepared for such success, had difficulty handling as the media coverage was crazy and limitless.

This six-episode series, created by Yaël Langmann, will revisit the group's genesis and explore the whirlwind that will quickly descend upon them: delirious fans, ultra-aggressive competition, overexposure to the media, all while suffering the full brunt of a ruthless industry that will quickly abandon them once the glory has faded. What about their friendship once they've crossed this tunnel?

To embody the trio, Prime is counting on three young actors: Antoine Simony, Namory Bakayoko, and Marin Judas-Bouissou. To support them, more experienced names like Daphné Bürki, Grégory Montel, Cécile Cassel, Marc Robert, and, as a nod to the real Frank Delay.

Broadcast scheduled for October 24.

"The Last Frontier," an intense manhunt on Apple TV+

A remote area of Alaska where Frank Remmick (Jason Clarke), a lone US marshal, finds himself hunting down dozens of violent criminals who are at large following the crash of the plane carrying them. Tasked with protecting the city he promised to keep safe, he gradually calls into question the accidental crash theory in favor of a vast, highly sophisticated plan with devastating consequences.

An intense and chilling manhunt featuring Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, and Tait Blum. This Apple Studio creation will consist of ten episodes and is expected on Apple TV+ starting October 10. A subtle mix between US Marshals and Taylor Sheridan's Wind River.

Broadcast from October 10.

The historical fresco "Montmartre" on TF1

This is TF1's new season series, following in the footsteps of historical creations like Le Bazar de la charité and Les Combattantes, and whose action takes us to Montmartre in 1899 in the footsteps of Céleste, a Cancan dancer in a cabaret who tries to find the brother and sister from whom she was brutally separated as a child, when their father was murdered before their eyes. To have the means to pay Leon, the inspector charged with finding them, she must dance naked and become the first stripper in Paris.

In eight episodes, Montmartre tells the story of a family of siblings who are complete opposites.

Alice Dufour, Victor Meutelet, Claire Romain, Hugo Becker, Mathilde Seigner, Thibault de Montalembert, Benjamin Baroche, Cristiana Reali and Valérie Karsenti are in the cast of this major historical epic which should not be the only historical series on TF1 this season since L'Été 36, mainly filmed in Nice, should arrive on our screens in a few months.

broadcast planned for the fall.

"Les Sentinelles", a new original creation from Canal +

Expected in the middle of autumn, this new original creation from Canal + is inspired by the comics by Xavier Dorison and Enrique Breccia (four albums published between 2009 and 2014). We are at the beginning of the First World War and soldier Gabriel Ferraud (Louis Peres) is seriously wounded at the front. During his difficult convalescence, he is selected to participate in a top-secret research program of the French army which aims to create a new type of fighter (stronger, more robust, faster). To do this, he must receive a serum of mysterious origin. Once restored and operational, Ferraud joins an elite unit composed of these new augmented soldiers: The Sentinels. Except that the German army also has soldiers of this type in its ranks and the confrontation is inevitable. And bloody. Behind Louis Peres, seen in Germinal, the cast revolves around Thibaut Evrard (Paris Police, Escort Boys), Pauline Etienne (Le Bureau des légendes) and Noam Morgensztern (De Grâce, Laëtitia). A series that will have eight episodes and somewhat revolutionize the visual genre, we are situated between the visual universe of Paris Police, the saga on the golden era of Canal + and the film Rocketeer released in 1991 in theaters. The Sentinels is an ambitious project that Alexandre Aja, the director of The Hills Have Eyes and Piranha, wanted to direct for a feature film for a long time before finally giving up.

Release scheduled for fall.
